Biosphere promise

We have committed to the following specific initiatives regarding nature, raw materials, waste, and lighting at Ellevilde Boutique Hotel as part of our involvement in the Møn Biosphere Reserve

Goals for Møn Biosphere

1. Strengthen the local ecosystem

We are constantly working to increase the proportion of local and organic ingredients in our kitchen, and we would be happy to expand our collaboration with more local producers, such as those in the dairy, flour, and meat industries.

2. Reduce climate footprint and promote Responsible Consumption

We sort our waste and are working to make the process even more comprehensive for guests and employees. We minimize food waste through our “Dish of the Day” concept.

3. Communicate trackless travel and nature awareness

We are working to raise awareness of the “Sporløs Færd” principles among our guests and, through our guided tours, teach them to respect and protect Møn’s natural environment.

Dark Sky Promise

We take care to preserve the dark night sky around the hotel and share the Dark Sky experience with our guests.

Goals for Dark Sky

1. Ensure Dark Sky-friendly lighting

Within the next 6 months, we will install fully Dark Sky friendly lighting throughout the property (low-Kelvin, fully shielded lighting that only points downwards) to avoid light pollution.

2. integrate Dark Sky dissemination

We offer guided stargazing walks during the season, and the common areas feature materials and information about Dark Sky Møn.

3. Increase guest awareness

At check-in, we ask guests to turn off unnecessary outdoor lighting so that the darkness of the night is preserved during their stay.
